There are many money-saving apps available, but some require more time than others. It's important to calculate how much money you're really saving versus the amount of time you spend using the app. For example, if it takes you 15 minutes to save 50 cents, the app may not be worth it. In this article, I'll list some of the apps I've tried and give you my opinion. ☆☆☆☆☆ ★★★★★
GasBuddy App Review:
This App is great at helping you find the cheapest gas nearby. You can sort by location, brand or type. Even though this is a great app I don't use it all the time because I know that my local Costco and Sam's Club are pretty much always going to have the cheapest gas. However, the other day, I was stuck on the other side of town after the Costco hours. I used GasBuddy, and it directed me to a brand new gas station that had just opened up and must have had the cheapest gas prices because of its grand opening. In this case, GasBuddy found me gas that was even cheaper than Costco. This App is a go-to app when we go on a family road trip. ★★★★★
Flipp App Review:
I find Flipp very user-friendly and one of my top choices for shopping apps. It enables me to compare prices of various products across different stores effortlessly. For instance, when I need to buy ground beef, I simply search for it on Flipp to locate the best deal. Since I have several grocery stores nearby, I don't hesitate to shop around for the best prices. Typically, I head to Walmart for items at regular prices and go to Fry's and Safeway for items that are deeply discounted. ★★★★★
Fetch App Review:
I am new to this app, but so far it seems worth it compared to some other apps that I've tried. You search for items you like to buy, and then you just upload receipts and then poof, you are all set. You can convert your earned points into gift cards. ★★★★☆
Shopkick App Review:
If you're new to the Shopkick app, you may find yourself spending a lot of time scanning products to earn "kicks." The time and effort required for scanning each item may not always be worth the perks. I've found simple scanning tasks aren't worth it but it could be worth it if you plan to purchase items that are offering kicks. To get the most out of this app, consider following an extreme couponer to learn how to maximize your savings effectively. Without this knowledge, you might feel like you're not getting the most out of the app.
Overall, if you're not planning on making significant purchases to earn substantial kicks, you might consider putting the app on hold until you feel more equipped to take full advantage of its benefits. ★★★☆☆
